I am so terribly sorry for your loss. While I had only visited with Aaji (that's the name I knew her by!) a couple of times, she left a lasting impression on me and my family - she was an incredible, strong and vibrant woman.
We (the Blands) have a condo in the sister building to where Aaji and Bhau lived for so many years. Nisha and I knew we were meant to be lifelong friends when we discovered that in law school Years later, when we were both in Toronto for a visit, she invited me over to Aaji and Bhau's to meet the family. When Aaji brought out a warm bowl of gulab jamun, I picked it up and promptly ate them all. Only then did I realize that that was the only bowl... and she was so gracious, she kept insisting they really were just for me
Around two years ago, again Nisha and I visited Harbour Square at the same time. She came over with Aaji and her cousins to have happy hour with my family. We had so much fun, laughing and telling stories, and even dancing. Your Aaji had so much spirit and energy, none of us could believe her age. Here is a picture of that visit
