It was heartbreaking to hear of Mary Ann's death so soon after John's - so much brightness and laughter gone from the world in such a short time. Kyoung-Hee and I fondly remember the fun family gatherings that John and Mary Ann were at and are always grateful for the great hospitality they showed us when we stayed with them in Los Alamos in 2001. It was Kyoung-Hee's first trip to my hometown, and they left her with a great impression of it.

Mary Ann's laugh was contagious, and the stories she told and the way that she told us kept us in stitches. We hadn't seen her in years, but we'll always remember her as a light in our lives and those of so many others.
