I first met and heard Darryl at a Cornelia st. Cafe reading organized by Bernard Block. Darryl knocked me out with his brilliance and his voice and his style. Years later, I had the good fortune to be invited by him to perform at a One Breath Rising event at Gallery 440. I was thrilled and so enjoyed being hosted by him and Joy and Abby in this intimate setting. I truly regret I did not get to know him better and earlier in my life.
