ZAMBIAN DIPLOMATIC CORPS WORLDWIDE MOURN KK

Ambassadors and High Commissioners of Zambia accredited to various countries across the globe have mourned First Republican President of Zambia Kenneth Kaunda who died peacefully at Maina Soko Military Hospital in Lusaka on June 17, 2021.

The envoys say Dr. Kaunda would be fondly remembered for being instrumental in national emancipation, integration and unity through his famous motto `One Zambia and One Nation`.

Dean of the Zambian Diplomatic Corps and Zambia’s High Commissioner to India Judith Kapijimpanga said the First Republican President left a legacy to be emulated by many generations to come for being a passionate advocate and iconic statesman who fought for regional and global peace.

“Dr. Kaunda would forever remain a Champion of Africa’s freedom for his selfless devotion in the fight against colonialism and for playing a pivotal role in the liberation of the Continent,” Mrs. Kapijimpanga said

She said Ambassadors and High Commissioners of Zambia accredited to various countries across the globe and the Zambian Mission in India commiserated with the Government and the people of the Republic of Zambia during this trying moment.

“It is our prayer that God grants the nation and the bereaved family solace and fortitude as we mourn the loss of a great leader and father,” Mrs. Kapijimpanga said.
