our Excellency High Commissioner Gen.(Rtd.)Paul Mohova, colleague Excellencies, please accept Zimbabwe's deepest condolences on the passing on of a legendary African icon, a founding father and Pan Africanist, humanist and outstanding global statesman, freedom fighter and pioneer Independence leader...the list of accolades goes on, and on, and on!
SADC in particular and the African people both on the continent and in the Diaspora have suffered a great loss indeed.
The untold suffering and sacrifices that Zambia together with other Frontline states and those beyond courageously went through for the total liberation of the Southern African region surely transcended the call of duty!
I pray to God that the young generation reads and learns from the supreme sacrifices that legends such as Dr Kenneth David Kaunda and others had to endure for the valuable freedom and Independence that we enjoy and take for granted today!
Our thoughts and prayers are with his bereaved family, HE the President Dr. Edgar Chagwa Lungu and the Zambian people as they mourn this great Son of the Soil!
