Trying to tell all of the stories about good memories involving Bob and his family would create an entire book. And I include his family because they are all a direct result of the kind of person he was, and along with Iris it was always Team Yerks. The overall kindness and generosity provided to my family and me will carry inside of me forever.
When having a conversation with Bob about any subject, you could tell he was listening and cared about what you were saying. You could just see it in his eyes. And it didn’t matter if it was a conversation with an accomplished adult or an eight-year-old kid, he just cared and it was obvious.
I always laughed a little when hearing stories about his professional accomplishments, and the accomplishments were awesome. But I laughed because after hearing them I’d think about what a revered person he was for those professional actions, but to me he was just Bob. That nice man who told great stories, was always welcoming, loved his wife and family, and enjoyed his p-u juice while walking around his yard checking to make sure the house and yard looked just right.
My heart goes out to his kids, grandkids, and great grandkids. I know what he meant to all of you. He will be missed by many, including me, he was just a great human. There need to be more Bob’s in this world.
