I will always remember Steve as someone who was easy going and full of life and laughter.

It was always the little things that made him so happy; watching a movie with his sons, taking his friends and family to the best Chinese restaurant in town, going to the sauna with Nick after a grueling hike; cooking up a nice meal for his family - the list goes on.

He had a pure heart and he loved his family more than anything. I had the pleasure of seeing the relationship between him and Nick heal and blossom beautifully in the past two years, and this photo was one of the most recent photos taken of him that attests to that. It was after an intense hike on August 2021 and we all wrapped up the day at a hole in the wall restaurant that served great food and makgoli. We were exhausted but Steve had never looked so happy that day, spending a full day with Nick and his friends.

Steve, it breaks my heart to think that we can't make any more of these memories together, and that I will not be able to hear your vivacious laughter over the silliest thing you saw on the internet.. I would've loved to get to know you more as not just a father to Nick and Alex, but as an individual.

Yet I am so grateful that you were able to make such great ever lasting memories with your family and friends in your short time here on earth. I know you will continue to look over all of us from up there; your memory will be with us forever. Rest in Peace.
