Ainsley Osmond Wilmore Cummings, affectionately called Junior because of his uncanny resemblance to his father, was born on June 25, 1961 in Annotto Bay, St. Mary, Jamaica, West Indies to Gladys Cummings (nee McFarlane) and Wilmore Cummings. He was the second youngest of 5 children, 2 sisters, Jossett and Winsome and 2 brothers, Hugh and Aeon.
Along with his family, Junior migrated to Brooklyn, New York in 1975 at age 14 and attended Walt Whitman Junior High School. He later attended Prospect Heights High School where he met and formed lifelong bonds with his fraternity of loyal friends. Based on his natural mathematical acumen, he pursued an engineering degree at City College. After two years, he transferred to TCI School of Technology and then shifted career focus to Law Enforcement in 1987 when joined the NYPD in July 1987. In 1991, while stationed at the 88th precinct, Junior suffered on the job that led to his retirement from the Police Force on disability. This did not dampen his life-ling passion for policing.
In 1994, Junior and his companion, Carolyn, were blessed with twin girls, Amanda Renee and Amryll Adara on November 13, 1994. Junior approached fatherhood with a strong sense of purpose and was dedicate to his children who were the apple of his eyes.
Ainsley worked as a tax preparer at SL Tax Center in Brooklyn. In 2007, he left to establish his own tax preparation company, Metro Tax Solutions with 10 employees. In 2014, he shifted to a more personal, home based operation, Ainsley Cummings Consulting, where with his affable personality and vast tax knowledge, he was able to service a growing and loyal clientele with a warm smile.
We lost Junior suddenly on May 1, 2020. He is survived by his two children, Amanda and Amryll Cummings, their mother Carolyn Drayton.
