He was raised in rural Nebraska on his family's farm, and it was there that he developed his love for farming, family, community, and God. Allen graduated from Wauneta High School where he enjoyed participating in the athletics programs.
He continued on with his education and graduated college from University of Nebraska at Lincoln with a Bachelors of Science in Agricultural Business, and went on to work for FDIC as a Field Officer Supervisor. He then met and fell in love with Lori (Kent) Pemberton, and from this union they welcomed two beautiful souls into the world, Erica and Luke.
During Allen's short, but impactful life, he enjoyed attending Luke's wrestling matches (one could always hear him cheering passionately above the dull roar of the crowds), going to Erica's dance shows, and spending time in Omaha with his daughter Meagan and her family. In addition, he could always be heard belting out his favorite Elvis tunes and loved barbecuing/hosting some epic Nebraska Husker tailgate events (win or lose, he loved watching them play). In his last few years, he found much joy in the new community he moved to off Leech Lake in Walker, MN. Here he joined Bible study with close friends, participated in community events, snowmobiling in the winter months, and fishing (particularly loved it when Luke could come out and be with him on the beloved lake).
The highlight of his days were spent fishing, boating, hunting, and spending time with family (he loved to be with his children, grandbabies, and close cousins) and friends. Survived in death by his children Meagan, Erica, and Luke, grandchildren Theron, Kaleigha, and Hadley, aunts, uncles, cousins, and a multitude of close friends.
According to Allen's wishes, he was cremated and there will be a future celebration of life. This event will be held at at the edge of Leech Lake, where he loved boating and fishing. Please check in closer to May for a finalized date and time of this event.
Updates (6/17/22): Sincerest apologies for the lack of updates on the celebration of life event. We have had to delay for a multitude of reasons, but at this time it is looking like it will happen in mid-September. More to come, we all appreciate the continued love, support, and patience as we figure everything out. We look forward to remembering our father with you all.

Allen and I were Twin Flames, best friends, and each others biggest fan. The first time he heard me singing 12 years ago, he said he fell in love. He would make me sing 'No One' by Alicia Keys any chance he could. When I first heard him sing "Burnin' Love", he changed the words to say, "Like the song of Shariah, Burnin' Love". The second time we met, I was in the hospital sick and he asked if I needed anything and if he could come see me. He brought up some items I needed to the hospital and then asked if he could stay to watch me sleep. I told him he was my new stalker. Even from the beginning, we shared a bond and empathized if the other was hurting. We often messaged each other when we sensed the other was going through something difficult. It saddened me when he told me he got COVID and he didn't think he was going to make it out of the hospital because we had just got through the scare with his throat ulcer.
Over the years we shared all types of jokes and quick witted banter from the time we woke up til we went to bed. He once said while laying in the bed, "Look Mom, it fits. Can I keep her?" The Elvis box was his gift I hand crafted for our 1st Valentine's Day together, back in 2010. When someone has money, it's hard to find them the perfect gift. I wasn't sure he was going to like it and actually hesitated giving it to him. When he opened it, he cried and said 🗣 "IT WAS THE BEST GIFT HE HAD EVER RECEIVED". It seems like making a hand crafted gift did the trick and he cherished it. I don't think a store bought give could ever do it. He still even had it at his house in Walker, MN, where he kept it safe (for the most part) for the last 12 years. There was a "Hunka Hunka Burnin' Love", a flaming heart ❤ that I put together with clay and hand painted that was missing when I got the box back from his daughter Meagan. He was my Guy Angel and I was his Nell. It was the cutest thing hearing him say "Tay ay in da wind" from the movie Nell. Bringing Down the House, Get on Up, Hangover, and our most recent film we saw together, Top Five were some of his favorites. He always did what he could to hear me laugh because he said he loved my machine gun laugh and would often try to copy me. When I visited him in Walker the second time, we rode the 4-Wheeler down to Charlie's for lunch before he retired to his brown recliner. He has had that same recliner for the past 12 years. It's where he is so often found asleep. Being the stubborn and assertive person that I am, I always woke him up in the sweetest way possible. That recliner was the birthplace of many great memories. The last time I saw him was right after Thanksgiving when he came to town. We stayed at our favorite place in Omaha, he called Breakfast Suites (Embassy Suites) cause they make the bestest omelets. Allen and Lil Man could always put a cheesy smile on my face with just a look or subtle touch. I, and everything around me felt bigger when he was around. His little boy smile and his silly songs he would make up for me will be forever imprinted in my heart. He always made sure to compliment me on all my accomplishments and tell me how proud he was of his Precious CG. I will miss him everyday and am glad to see that he had enough love to go around to make the rest of you feel the same way. For now, I will let God hold him in His arms, while I continue to hold my dearest Allen in my heart.

I miss you so much! We met 5 years ago, but it seems like just yesterday you took me camping for our bdays, we went out on your boat, & i played Elvis' "Can't Help Falling in Love w/You" on my uke, while you sang. I totally fell for you then & the 3 yrs we spent together were some of the best. I'm honored i got to do things like hangout w/some of your beautiful family, or see your grandson wrestle... & im thankful you were always there for me when i needed you. It breaks my heart that the last time you came to visit me was this August, and that we could never get our schedules to line up after that once you got sick, & im so so sorry for that. I wish i would popped up to visit you in Minnesota 💔 but im so glad, that the last time we spoke, though not a true goodbye, we exchanged i love yous... i attached my favorite photo of you, & my sincerest condolences to your family; you were one of a kind & I love you dearly ♡ Britt less

Funny, witty, generous, loving & caring, he was Elvis' biggest fan, a fantastic singer, an "Amazon Junkie", and together we loved watching the sunrise over the lake. He LOVED the InstaPot I'd given him for Christmas(said it was "THE BEST GIFT EVER!!!). He would cook AMAZING meals, relax in " his chair" and fall asleep while watching Elvis documentaries. Allen (a.ka. 🥰"Grizzie"or "Grizzie-Love") will be missed ALWAYS &😘 LOVED FOREVER! 🕊️💝💖 less
