Andrew G. Blazek passed away unexpectedly the morning of December 31, 2018 in Pennsauken, New Jersey. He was 38 years old. We do not yet know the cause, but as we try to make sense of his untimely death there are a few things that are certain. Andy was funny, kind, sensitive, and generous. When he set his mind to something, he worked hard to accomplish it, and would give the shirt off of his back to help those he loved in times of need.
Andy liked cold beer, pretty women, tanning at the beach, hip hop and punk music, watching the Philadelphia Flyers, working on cars, and having fun. He always ready with a clever quip or quick witticism.
Like so many, he struggled with addiction. We love him dearly and are proud of the progress he had been making and the plans that he had set in motion to make better memories in the years to come. Andy had recently been reinstated as a mechanic in the Steamfitters Local 420 and was looking forward to getting back to work with his former coworkers, after helping his dad, Jerry Blazek, run the family auto repair business over the past year and half.
He is survived by his daughter, Hannah; father, Jerry; mother, Sonja; sisters Michelle and Nikki; brother, Brian; nieces, Stephanie and Morgan; and nephew, Ryan. Andy was born in Gloucester County, New Jersey. He is a former resident of Upshur County, West Virginia; Camden County, New Jersey; and Bucks and Philadelphia Counties, both in Pennsylvania.
We were hopeful for the future and are devastated by this loss. We hope you will join us in remembering Andy this Sunday, January 13 from 1PM to 4:30PM at the Mantua VFW Post 7696 at 8 New York Avenue.
