OBITUARY
Nigeria but in particular the Niger Delta has lost a voice. Humanity has lost a fighter. Anyakwe Nsrimovu, humanist, brother, friend, compatriot, comrade. Morning came a little too early.
The Niger Delta, Nigeria and the world lost a great voice, a friend and an environmentalist and pro-democracy activist in the person of Comrade Anyakwee.

Woke up this morning to the sad news of the demise of one of my amiable and great mentors on Human Rights, judicial activism and social accountability.
One under whom I did my first stint and interface with the Fundamental Rights concept and the promotion of Human Rights, as a Programmes Assistant on Economic and Sociocultural Rights when I started as a Youth Corper at the Institute of Human Rights and Humanitarian Law in D/Line Port Harcourt.
Anyakwee Nsirimovu the Executive Director of the Institute of Human Rights and Humanitarian Law has been confirmed to have died yesterday at a hospital after a brief illness.
What a loss! My sincere condolences to his family and the Human Rights community and may God grant him eternal Rest.
My Tribute...
Morning Comes...dear Anyakwee!
Morning comes was your most soothing consolatory conclusion on every peculiar but fundamental Human rights violation and breach carried out by the oppressor on the oppressed!
A dogged pioneer and mentor to a whole lot of proteges including late Ken Atsuwete and the rest of us!
A determined activist you were...vocal and resilient in your advocacy on the promotion and protection of Human Rights. You did well to organise, coordinate and build capacity for promotion of Human Rights and preservation of the sanctity of man as expoused by Plato, Aristotle and the likes of these great mentors!
You pushed and PUSHED and recorded tremendous success within Rivers State and Nigeria!
You played your part in the theater of our brutish lives, indeed your struggles were to reflex the mirror of our imperialist characteristics as man, ever exhibiting tyrannical tendencies!
We are now left with a whole deal to deal with and continue to advocate for JUSTICE in it's literal sense!
We know you are gone, but through the winds your good deeds, we'll keep forever in our hearts!
ALUTA CONTINUA!
