Barry Kass, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle, passed away peacefully on March 30 due to complications related to Alzheimer disease.
Barry was a community leader as owner of Toub’s pharmacy in Pequannock, New Jersey, through 1976. Barry served as Chairman of the Pequannock Township Drug Abuse Education Committee and initiated the first “Drug Abuse Hot Line” in New Jersey. He developed and implemented the first cable television show pertaining to health issues in New Jersey.
Barry later earned an M.B.A. degree in management from Fairleigh Dickinson University. He founded Romikron Consulting, working with companies and medical institutions developing and commercializing the use of computerized technology in the diagnosis and treatment of various disease states, especially those related to central nervous system and behavioral health disorders, and served as CEO of Braintech, Inc., one of the pioneers in the use of computer based technologies for neurological imaging and functional analysis of brain electrical activity mapping.
From 1989-1999, Barry served as Director of Continuing Education and Development for Northeastern University School of Pharmacy and Health Sciences.
Barry also proudly served in the US Army reserves Military Intelligence Unit in the 1950's before his marriage to Brenda Toub in 1960.
He is survived by his devoted wife Brenda, brother Mayer, his children: Robert and his wife Shayne, Michael and his life-partner Penny, and Ronald, and granddaughter Marlie.
