Mom was a superb bridge player and started playing duplicate bridge when she moved to Florida, in her 60's.  She went up dozens of levels, and to celebrate her "gold" level, Dad surprised her with her very own "gold" car.  She was amazed when that happened, although Dad was one of those men who expressed his love thru actions.
