She was absolutely the most loving neighbor I have ever had. After we moved to the neighborhood we were invited to a delightful evening at the Dru household during which she informed my husband and I she and Luke would be organizing a welcome party for us at her home, inviting all the neighbors so they could get to know us. Who does this nowadays!? Not many. Actually, correct that: no one that I have met. She was just that rare of a person.
Thereafter we got hugs literally every time she, Luke and Teddy would walk by our home. Carol hugs were like no other. Warm and enveloping just like her precious personality. Like a ray of sunshine! I can imagine she knew no stranger! She had a way of accepting you that made you feel so important and loved. I can't quite explain it. During our last visit with her at the Dru home I told her God would care for her and keep her, no matter what. She said confidently,"HE WILL!" This impressed me deeply about her character, and perhaps a clue to her buoyant personality and light heartenedness even in the most trying of circumstances. I personally can't wait to see her again in the arms of our Savior. I can imagine she is lighting up heaven the way she lit up our lives. What a blessing and privilege to know Carol even for such a short time.
The love she had for you her children was second to none. She could not stop talking about how proud she was of you and how great you are. She was especially delighted to share about the 50th party you organized for her and Luke. The love she had for Luke was truly amazing, I have not seen anything like it. She adored Luke. I learned alot from Carol in such a short time and knowing her changed me. Wow, what a family, and what an amazing lady and neighbor. I am grateful to God for allowing me to know such a precious and wonderful person. I am so sorry for your loss! We are praying for you Luke, Robin, Matthew and Teddy. May God comfort your hearts! less
