Whatever it was, she threw herself into it with passion, determination and humour. Carol the mother to Jennifer, Chell and Kate, never left anyone in doubt about her love for her girls and her immense pride in their accomplishments. Carol the grandmother was Jordan's biggest fan and delighted in their shared love of sports - every moment of his life proudly documented. Carol the sister looked up to brothers Harvey, Dennis and Tommy and wasn't averse to showing them up if the opportunity presented. Carol the
wife put her all into 'for better' and 'in sickness' was always there for Joe in his time of need, and was lovingly cared for by him in her turn. Carol the mother-in-law kept Elijah, Dale and Jordan well-fed at her table and nourished their goals as their tireless promoter and supporter. Carol the friend forged lifelong
bonds with those fortunate enough to have crossed her path in life, whether over the back fences in Roxboro, on holiday, in her kitchen, in business, on the golf course or just in passing - she had the rare skill of keeping her friends close through her loyalty and remarkable ability to remember everyone's
phone number. Carol the cook fed the hordes with culinary finesse and enthusiasm. Carol the creative knew how to take a project, run with it and see it through to a successful end - knitting, sewing, quilting and growing - if it had good gear, Carol would master it. Carol the businesswoman built her "empire" from three little words - "Whatever it takes" - and it took a lot of heart, hard work and a little help along the way to go from a tiny office in her "poorly built" to the thriving businesses that show what Carol could achieve when she put her mind to it. Carol the golfer showed the same drive and determination on the course as she did in all things - and on those occasions she rode a golf cart instead of walking, she mostly managed to stay in it. Whatever it takes attitude and a cup of coffee was what fueled her. And so, when you think of Carol, imagine her great big smile, admire her bigger heart and above all, remember to laugh.
