Cheryl was born on January 28, 1957 in Michigan to John L. and Esther (Williams) Lester. She married Barrett Robinson in 1975 and began a family to whom she was deeply devoted. As one of Jehovah's Witnesses she had spent the last 12 years learning the Hindi language and Indian culture to help others learn about the Bible, most recently with the Bethany, Arizona Hindi congregation. She also enjoyed baking and doting on her grandchildren.
Cheryl will be dearly missed by her husband Barrett Robinson; daughters, LaKena (Nathan) Marotta of Macomb, Michigan, Laiya (Ryan) Goulet of Canton, Michigan, LaRonda (Ryan) Vaughan of Superior Township, Michigan and Lauren Robinson of Canton, Michigan; her sons, Barrett N. (Omri) Robinson of Mount Pleasant, Michigan and Brandon (Maranda) Robinson of Lincoln Park, Michigan; four grandchildren; sisters Jacqueline Lester of Jacksonville, Georgia and Leona Lester of Inkster, Michigan; brothers John L. Lester Jr. of Hampton, Virginia and Kenneth Lester of Kalamazoo, Michigan along with many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by both her parents, John L. and Esther (Williams) Lester, and one grandchild Zennia Michelle Robinson.
Her family would like to extend our deep appreciation to any who took time out of their busy schedules to bring meals, to send meals via mail from all over the country, sent cards, flowers, came to visit, made a phone call and who kept us in your thoughts and prayers.

"I came here to write to obituaries today and found this one. As I was reading, I saw that this beautiful lady is one of my sisters! We know that it hurts now, but ask Jehovah promised at John 5: 28, 29, we will see her again. And soon! Much love, your Pittsburgh sister. Casey Cherry (Spiritual Sister) (thexbubblyxone@gmail.com)"
"Dear Family and Friends of Cheryl, I am so sorry to learn of your loss. Please take comfort in Jehovah God's unfailing promises that truly comfort us and inspire hope. Revelation 21:3-5 helps us see how soon falling asleep in death will no longer plague us. Job 14:14-15 expresses his strong yearning to reunite them with us. Yes soon we will be able to resume our association with them and what a wonderful time that will be. Sincerely Rhonda (rfjones62@gmail.com) - July 4th, 2017"
"To the Robinson family: I am so very sorry about the loss of one who is so dear to many people I too will remember her beautiful smile and the joy she brought to us as well as her fine example of faithfulness to Jehovah and it won't be long and our "God Jehovah will wipe out every tear from their eyes and death will be no more..."(Rev.21:4) Sincerely T.Duncan Mt Pl Mi. "Cheryl, my lifelong friend. There is a special place for you always in my heart. We became friends in elementary school and stayed in contact over the years. From the time that we met at age 5 you have been a constant, devoted friend. My family loved you, and your infectious smile and postitive view of life never changed. You faithfully visited my Mom and Dad when I couldn't be there, and they reported on your visits as if royalty had arrived. Never a cross or negative word for or about anyone. You are an example for all of us as a person, parent and friend. Your family is in our thoughts and prayers. You will be missed. Cheryl Chatang Cabbil (Childhood Friend) - May 29th, 2017"

"Our hearts go out to the Robinson family and close friends. We did not have the privilege of meeting our dear sister, but we greatly anticipate and look forward to having a friendship with her in the very near future. That time is just around the corner. We love you all! Chad and Tricia Conroy - May 24th, 2017"
"My wonderful memories of Cheryl are of her ever present smile and her infectious laugh. She was always accepting and encouraging of your dreams. After high school, when I would run into her around the area, she was always sincerely interested in your life adventures. She also eagerly shared with you the joys of her life: Her Children. I truly admired her only marriage with Barrett. They brought true meaning to 'evenly yoked'. Please know that I continue to keep the Robinson family in my thoughts and prayers. Geralyn Stephens Gunn (Childhood Friend) - May 23rd, 2017"
"Our hearts, thought, and prayers are with all of you. Cheryl was a very special woman who always lovingly shared her experiences and wise counsel to me as a young wife and mother. She was definitely someone to aspire to and I often think about things she told me that have helped me raise my 2 boys. Thank you for sharing your beloved mother with those of us in need of a spiritual mom. We look forward to seeing her in fully restored, perfect health soon in Paradise. Until then, may Jehovah be with you all. Exie Buehler (Friend) - May 23rd, 2017"
"She will be sorely missed. Thankfully we know that soon she will be awakened in perfect health, and we will all receive that big beautiful smile and warm hug from her. She will be so happy to see that we all remained faithful to Jehovah so that we could be there to welcome her back! With love. Teri Green (Littles) (Friend) - May 23rd, 2017" less
