On October 3, 2021, Daniel Thomas FitzPatrick, loving son, brother, and friend, passed away at the age of 52.
Dan was born in Southfield, MI on June 28, 1969. He grew up in Royal Oak, MI, attended Royal Oak Shrine Grade School, graduated from Orchard Lake St. Mary’s High School, and received a Bachelors degree in humanities from Michigan State University in 1992. He lived most of his adult life in southwest Colorado, where he worked as a musician and carpenter.
Dan was a kind and caring soul with a big heart, and an even bigger laugh. He was passionate about music, animals, and nature. He lived an active, peaceful, outdoor lifestyle in the beauty and serenity of the rocky mountains. Unfortunately his life ended too soon, as the victim of a homicide.
Dan was preceded in death by his father, Thomas FitzPatrick . He is survived by his mother Joanne Reiss Evans, stepfather Dennis Evans, sisters; Julie FitzPatrick McGlone and Kristin FitzPatrick Ezell, and two brothers-in-law; Scott McGlone and Marlin Ezell. Dan was a fun-loving uncle to his three nieces, and nephew. He will be missed by a large extended family, including several aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.
A celebration of life mass will be held on Monday, July 25 at Shrine of the Little Flower Basilica in Royal Oak, MI at 10:00am. Viewing and visitation, 9:30am. Donations may be made in Dan's name, sent to Shrine Grade School tuition fund.
