"Always on our minds, forever in our hearts"Darla was born July 7, 1973 in Snyder, Texas to (James) Pat Smith and (Virginia) Sue Smith. Darla was a nurse in the Snyder area for 20 years. She worked many of those years at both Snyder Oaks and Snyder Nursing Home, starting as a nurses' aid before finishing school to become a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN). Darla was born July 7, 1973 in Snyder, Texas to (James) Pat Smith and (Virginia) Sue Smith. Darla was a nurse in the Snyder area for 20 years. She worked many of those years at both Snyder Oaks and Snyder Nursing Home, starting as a nurses' aid before finishing school to become a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN). She loved caring for people and had a knack for relating with her elderly patients, able to get even the most ornery to crack a smile. She later worked in the emergency room at Cogdell Memorial Hospital and Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital in Sweetwater.
She is survived by: Son - Kaden McCarter Mother - Sue Smith (3) Sisters - Dana Smith Carter and husband Robert Cherokee Atwood and husband Tex Cheyenne Atwood Brother - James Preston Smith Uncle - Gary Smith and wife Shirley Aunt - Ann Franks and husband Jimmy (7) Cousins - David Smith, Allen Smith, Casey Franks, Jamie Franks, Lindsay Franks, Rusty Smith, and Logan Smith (7) Nephews - Derek Smith, Christopher Johnson, Jonathon Smith, Trevor Smith, Tucker Smith, Jacob Smith, and Joey Edmison
