David Anthony Snow came into this world on August 21, 1962 in Washington D. C. born in Providence Hospital. After a courageous battle with many heath challenges, David left us peacefully at his residence in Houston, Texas on Wednesday. July 8, 2020. He made his transition with his wife Valerie and his daughter Courtney right there by his side as they have been throughout this entire battle with cancer.
David or “Tony” as his mother affectionately referred to him was the son of David C. and Frances R. Snow, grew up in Washington D.C. He was born into a supportive Catholic family where he was christened as a child in the Immaculate Conception Church, he subsequently asked for and accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior before his transition.
A D.C native, David attended the University of the District of Columbia.
Some people are born to work in the hospitality industry. They can often be described as having a sociability and a never-ending willingness to give guests a great time, this describes his personality which was like a second nature to him; he loved everyone that he met. “Mr. Hospitality”, “Mr. Snow”, “Snow”, “David”, “Tony” was a special breed the ideal hospitality employee with an impressive skill set, which made him perfect for his position as a General Manager for Marriott International before moving to Texas in 2006. He continued his career and joined Texas Western Hospitality, the management arm of Western International, which David held various roles including Regional Manager, General Manager and most recently Director of Sales of this company.
“Mr. Hospitality” was born to assume the career that he loved.
He used his used his love for the hospitality industry, to “pay it forward” in a humanitarian effort to make sure that those in need were assisted as best as he could. Perhaps he always remembered the words of his grandmother “Nana”, would tell him “Tony, just be a good person, just help somebody!”.
“Snow” was a great listener, never boastful, a motivator, an encourager, a focused poker player with the ability to read and determine the character of the people he met. He was a smooth communicator, an organizer, a man with the ability to bring people together. He just was amazing at intuitively being able to connect the right people with the right people. It was like he was putting a puzzle together, and he had all the pieces. A man whose family and friends felt safe in his presence.
David is survived by his mother Frances R. Snow of, his wife of over 30 years Valerie Terrell Snow, a loving and devoted daughter Courtney Simone Snow, son David R. Paul (Jasmine), grand-daughter Emory A. Paul, niece Brittani M. Lee and nephew Brandon M. Lee. David will be greatly missed by a host of other relatives and a plethora of friends and colleagues that knew and loved him.
Preceded in death by his father, David C.A. Snow, his sister Diane E. Lee and his beloved “Nana” Grandmother Johnnie Mae Sickels.
Although David is no longer with us in the flesh, his sprit, memory, and example will always be with us. God in his awesome nature placed him on this Earth to plant seeds in our lives, to nurture and to love us. He has now entered the Kingdom of Heaven where there is no more suffering nor pain.
David loved life and he desired to live his life the best he could for as long as he could. His life could be summed up in the words recorded by the late, Frank Sinatra, “I Did It My Way.” Yes, David lived life his way.
