We have now finalised John's funeral arrangements and on behalf of Lorna would like to invite you to the celebration of his life.
The service will be held at St Martin's Church, Martinstown, Dorchester, DT2 9JR on Friday 13th March at 11am.
This will be followed by a private reception, or what we are affectionately calling "John's Last Party", from 12 noon to 3pm in the Brewers Arms, Martinstown, Dorchester, DT2 9LB, which is about 100 yards down the road from the church.
There is ample parking in the village and outside the church. The owners of the Brewers Arms have said guests can park in the pub car park for the service and reception, so please make use of this facility if you are able.
We are providing a buffet lunch at the reception for all guests. Lorna has said you are all very welcome and encouraged to attend, so please join us to share your stories and memories of John with us all. We will be disappointed if you dont come!
So that we may plan and prepare for the church service and reception can I ask you to email a reply to me by Monday 9th March at the latest please, confirming your attendance and if you have any allergies or dietary requirements.
For those guests requiring overnight accommodation we can recommend The Dutchess of Cornwall in Poundbury, also the Brewers Arms have one double room available which they have reserved for any guest who may require it, please contact the pub direct to book. There are numerous good B&B's or pubs in the area as well. It may seem obvious but no dogs please!
There are many people who we don't have email addresses or contact details of. If you know of friends or family not included in this message please forward it to them or let me know if they would like to attend on their behalf.
Please don't hesitate to contact us if you have any questions.
