Haugen, Frances
Frances Eleanor Haugen of Wilton, Maine, passed away at age 76, on Tuesday, January 15th, 2019 at the Hospice House in Auburn, Maine from advanced pancreatic cancer.
She was born in Harrisburg, PA on October 4th, 1942 to Clara and James Gilmer. Survived by her siblings Anne Gilmer, George Gilmer, and David Gilmer. Fran will be lovingly remembered by her four children, Trescott Haugen, Abigail Fellows, Natasha Bogar, Saskia Reinholt, their father, William Haugen, and seven grandchildren Sara, Isaac, Skylar, Nilsen, Iris, Aliyah, and Naomi. She attended Cedar Cliff High School and Wilson College, class of 1965.
Fran had many professions during her lifetime including, mother, social work, teaching, wetlands scientist, upholstery, and sales. Creative at heart, she was a master quilter and founder of the Northern Lights Quilting Guild in Lebanon, NH. Fran was an artist and maker who created a remarkable collection of work during her lifetime. A lover of hiking and world travel, she was always planning her next adventure.
Fran was known for her perseverance, integrity, and energy. Her motto in life was; happy, joyous, and free. A Celebration of Fran’s Life will be held from 1-4pm at Trumball Hall, 195 Etna Rd, Etna, NH, on Saturday, May 18th.
