Gloria "Dee Dee" Tscherch passed away Wednesday June 24th, 2020 after battling cancer. She was such a bright, beautiful light and we will miss her so much. Gloria "Dee Dee" Tscherch passed away Wednesday June 24th, 2020 after battling cancer. She was such a bright, beautiful light and we will miss her so much. Her laugh had so much of her essence, her radiance. Her smile lit up the place and anyone who came near it. Her smile and her laugh are part of the reason she got the nickname Dee Dee. Her mother says that when Dee Dee was a baby she used to tap her on the chin and say "dee dee dee dee" and Dee Dee would break into smiles and laughter. The name stuck. Dee Dee loved to dance, loved to travel and loved her family and friends. If you were close to her you were blessed with a deep, unwavering love. I'll miss having her to call to talk for hours about everything, nothing and anything. We had a habit of saying goodbye and then talking for another hour or so. Liz Coopersmith, Bessie Pian and I were talking about our friendship with Dee Dee and how much of a rare gift it was. How did we get so lucky to be the recipients of Dee Dee's love - a love that was non-judgmental, genuine and lifelong. With this gift now comes the pain of losing her. Of course, I'd choose this gift every single time even if I knew it would come with this pain. -Michael Ryther
