She knew as early as age 9 that she wanted to become a nurse; in fact she qualified as a nurse and midwife and won the Nurse of the Year award when she graduated from nursing school! A dedicated life as a nurse included service as a staff nurse, midwife and senior nurse (or 'Sister') in the UK and ultimately hospital matron in Nigeria where she also served as President of the National Association of Nigerian Nurses and Midwives. Mama was a wonderful wife and mother and adored her grandchildren. What a shame her visits with great-grandbaby, Zara, were only virtual; but great fun nonetheless!
Mama's church family brought tremendous joy to her life after retirement and there are many stories to share about her charitable and philanthropic work as well as her numerous travels and adventures throughout her life. We miss you so much, Mum! Continue to rest in peace with The Lord. Amen!
Sanu mama it’s been a year we have missed your voice and gentle chuckle when we speak over the phone. You are dearly missed but present in our thoughts especially at this first remembrance. Rest in the presence of our Lord.
MAMA AS WE ARE MARKING YOUR ONE YEAR REMEMBRANCE TODAY WE ARE PRAYING TO GOD TO CONTINUE KEEPING YOU ON HIS RIGHT HAND IN HEAVEN AND CONTINUE PROTECTING YOUR CHILDREN HERE ON EARTH THROUGH CHRIST OUR LORD AMEN.

Dear Mama it seems like yesterday you left us. We really miss you and remember your warmth your loving smile and will never forget you. Rest in perfect peace in the Lord. Amen. With Love Lanre and Jay Jay.
With her great heart Mama embraced all and sundry. We had great times when she visited Nairobi and we dined together at the Odubekun’s. We were immediately adopted and honored to remember her with fond memories. Lola kept us up to date on all the fun. The Sagnias

Dear Paul and Marie, It's so good to catch up virtually after so long--thanks for the memories. We also enjoyed fabulous meals at yours. Who can forget the tasty do more and more? Bless you all!
It’s startling to believe that it’s already been a whole year since Nana departed. Taking solace in my knowledge that she is still praying for us all. May she continue to rest in perfect peace 💕

Remember how we got VIP seats because someone from the Emir's Palace ecognized Mum (she had delivered a number of babies there) and said she had to get the best seating as a result! "Ah, Sanu Matron! Rankishidade!"

???? I believe Babz was also just getting over the measles at the time. Hence the 'dots' on his face! Tobi's just wondering what all the fuss is about turning "ONE."

Our group decided to run radio ads across the country in Hausa, Yoruba and Igbo, encouraging people to get themselves vaccinated. It was my task to get the ads recorded and Mama came through big for us by agreeing to do the Hausa version in her beautiful voice. I came over to Francis and Lola's place in New Jersey and recorded her voiceover.
I was very lucky to see Mama shortly before she left us during a visit to Francis and Lola in Lagos. I reminded her of that session and we had a good laugh about how she taught me the Hausa word 'bara' - (last year). Mama is fondly remembered.

Those were the days, Tunde! Im so glad you were able to remind Mum of that. She LOVED anything to do with child health and still participated in health clinics in the Zaria area for a.lont time post-retirement. Your visit was a real treat!
My Precious Big Sister and Friend,
Yours was a Godly life!
A beautiful life;
A life of love that touched all around you.
You were a FLOWER SO RARE!
Every memory of you will always be blessed.
Now you are with your Saviour

Dear Aunty, at 9a.m. promptly every Sunday, over the last few years, you were there to take Mama to church. This was generally followed by a sumpuous lunch and relaxing chat. The demonstration of true love and friendship In action!
Sanu Mama. The past year hasn't been the same without you, but I know that there is 'no love without pain.' The only way to heal the pain is to love. You loved everyone as your own. A fantastic legacy..Rest In Peace.
I can't believe it's a year already since mummy passed. I will forever cherish the moments spent with her; her smile, eloquence, warmth. Continue to rest in peace mama.❤️
Grandma was a very kind hearted, lovely, and fun person,we wished we spent more time with her. We'll always remember the time we spent together.

I bet the boys are so much bigger and taller now. Would I even recognize them? It's been 3 months since we were together at Ijebu for Mummy (my Mum-in-law's) burial. R.I, P.
Mama was a woman who had smiles to brighten your days, who always made you feel good with her warm words of praise. And what's more she Knew what to do to make wishes come true. Our hearts are with you Mama.
A great mother she was! I'm glad our paths crossed in our sojourn here on earth. The mother and son love we shared here leaves me in no doubt that we'll share it more perpetually there in heaven when the time comes. Rest on cheerful Mama!
