Indu always believed in “The value of a man should be seen in what he gives and not in what he is able to receive.” In one word, Indu was a woman who gave. She gave much to her work. Here was a life that demand notice….a life that exemplified brilliance…a life that inspired emulation…a life that burned so that others’ paths were lit.
I have known Indu since last many years, majorly worked with her since last 2 years when Indu joined the Damco as Head of FIN for Middle East. Indu was a strategic thinker, a visionary who was brilliant, innovative and creative.
Indu was deeply always concerned with improving the results of our company and she was very keen to innovate with various ideas every time whenever I spoke to her during my one :one conversation on weekly basis.
Indu was living proof of how fine a person can be. She was a good manager to the people in her charge ( always thinking of their continuous development), a loving wife to her husband, and a devoted mother to her children. She was also a good friend to many of us and a great colleague. The character of the life she lived might be summed up in a few words: she was sincere, she was earnest, she was loyal. I remember many instances when she said that Puneet I want my kids to live with me ( her kids were studying in India with her parents when she and her husband was in Dubai working). Because of this , she took major step to move to CPH so that kids can stay with her, finally her dream was about to come to true of working in Head quarters as well.
She gave energy, commitment and inspiration to his staff and to others with whom she worked. The Indu I remember was a happy Indu, one who not only was cheerful in herself but who gave much cheerfulness to others. She had a beautiful smile, a great sense of humour and a gentle demeanour. Indu was bright, logical and very systematic in her thinking. She was always willing to share her ideas and information. We always remember her coming out of box ideas during our weekly team meetings. Many of us found her to be a splendid person of great intellect and big heart.
In her career she worked with passion, integrity and full of energy. By her death all the people who knew her will miss a highly intelligent, vibrant individual with a rare friendliness and charm of personality. Indu was a genuinely warm and wonderful individual—one we will miss greatly. Our sorrow is lessened only slightly with the comforting thought that we had the privilege to know her.

Too poor to embrace our feelings and emotions. Too poor to even come close to that. The language of words only reaches the ears. Though a mis of feelings of grieving pain and deep sadness is in all our hearts.
Indu has been an unforgettable member of the Damco Freight Forwarding Family. She was in the role of Head of Finance for UAE and Pakistan straight when we went live in 2019. She was recommended as a talent for this role. This role was heavy as it covered two districts and she therefore had to connect with several different stakeholders in the countries and in the regions. And exactly here, I’ve seen her flourishing. Lovely as she was as a person, driving the right things with grace and care, not against anyone, but together with everyone, achieving the right things in the right pace. The performance of the teams in both UAE and Pakistan has been outstanding and after some time we approached her for a promotion to TMS, which she gladly took. In fact she was really desperate to grow into new roles, getting to know more people and growing her personal and professional skills continuously.
When Stay Ahead 2.0 came across, we were recruiting for a strong global business controller, with area experience, and moreover, also with a scares capacity to truly connect with people and pursue the right business control agenda in the HQ in CPH. Indu was entirely in for this. On Friday 8 January, we as a team had a 3-hour workshop, where we all remember her participation, in her usual, engaging and friendly style, nice to people, involved with all of us. With grace and care. And still clear on the deliverables and expectations and thinking fast and smart.
What happened since is history. Her life on earth has passed away only hours later, with her we lose a so lovely, engaged, humble and strong friend, colleague and finance leader, someone who was an example for many of us, particularly including women in Finance.
Many in the company have shared their condolences in a tremendous nice, graceful way, trying to give words to the pain in their hearts. Our thoughts and prayers are particularly with the two kids, Gowtham and Ramya, the sister Kalaivani, the father of Indu and all those who are in love and friendship with Indu, her husband and her mother.
May the Lord God be with us all for now and forever, He’s the One who can grand eternal grace and care. Amen less

I had the pleasure of knowing and working with Indu from 2016 to 2019. Over those 3 years our association grew from professional to a very warm and friendly relationship - I always popped by her desk to say hello whenever I visited Dubai post SA1.0.... more
