James Edward Shook, 76, of Belleville Illinois, died Thursday, June 30th at Memorial Hospital in Belleville, Illinois. He was born on July 26th,1945 in Eldorado, Illinois.
Jim served 2 years in the US Army during the Vietnam War with an honorable discharge and after returning home became an owner / trainer of standardbred race horses.
He is preceded in death by his brother, Walter Shook and his parents Orlin and Aline (Smith) Shook.
He is survived by his sister, Linda Boyer, three daughters, Ita Pumphrey, Holly (Karl) Messer and Kara (Jared) Woodrow and two grandchildren, Canyon and Kally.

A private family service will be held at the Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St Louis on Monday, July 18th at 1pm.
