Janet Gracie Barnes Christensen did not just live, she taught us how to live as well. More than that, she taught us how to love. Not just others, but ourselves. She was a go go dancer, a hairdresser, a business woman, a peace officer. She was a sponsor and a survivor. She was a teacher and the safest place to laugh or cry.
In any room, she was bound to have the biggest personality, the most healing hugs, the highest abundance of sparkle and the greatest heart.
She was so many things.
One wonders how she fit it into the one giant life she lived.
But above all she was Claude and Helens' daughter. She was Danny, Jamie and Christie's Mother. She was Sadie, Kash and Kyler's Granny. She was a lover of Jesus, joy, Gods grace and a friend to all who needed one.
I am soo glad we had the opportunity to meet for a wonderful lunch, and visit, recently, and was really looking forward to her next visit north. She was really special and am soo greatful to have known her all these years. RIP dear old friend

When I had to move from my forever home she showed up and worked so hard to help me pack and get through the headache. I am missing her daily, but know she will always be with me. less

What I remember about Janet is unyeilding joy, childlike humor, and seemingly unwavering confidence. In whatever group of people we were in, you could count on most of them knowing and loving Janet. I wish I'd have kept in contact with her when she moved. My condolences to her family who I'm afraid I've never met. less
