I loved walking through the front door to see the grandeur. I remember Jani taking us to the drive-in theater. She had gotten us pizza. At some point the pizza was passed to the back seat of the car, but unfortunately touched the roof on its way. Such a wonderful memory of having fun with my family. less

With only eleven years between our ages, she was my "cool aunt" and we had lots of fun! Aunt Jani was my very first stylist at her Terrarium Hair Salon in Temperance, MI. I remember having sleepovers at her beautiful house - swimming in the pool, giggling at making waves on the waterbed (a new phenomenon at the time!), and trying out Uncle Darryl's home gym in the basement. One day, the water heater wasn't working and we went downstairs to investigate. She asked me if I was wearing clean underwear in case it exploded and we had to be taken to hospital. We laughed until we cried at that old adage taught to her by MeMe, her grandmother/my great-grandmother. In my early teens, I developed fainting spells and required a "sleep-deprived" EEG to diagnose the issue. It was Jani who stepped in to keep me awake all night - talking and eating junk food - and take me to that appointment the next day! I will always remember my Aunt Jani as a beautiful young woman with a loving and generous soul who embraced life as best she could and adored her boys most of all. 💕 less
I was 12 when my adorable little cousin was born -- and have lovely memories of her growing up. I loved seeing her graduation photo, once again. Thank you, Jessie, for sharing.

We went out to eat so many times. She would come over & swim. We were the closest of sisters. Even after I moved to Texas. She even gave me a bookkeeping job at her salon when I needed a job. Bye Bye Jani. I miss you more everyday.
