Jeffry John Van Vooren
January 10, 1951 - September 11, 2021
Naples, Florida - Jeffry John Van Vooren was an amazing father and husband who lived life to the fullest. He led his family with a strong sense of morals and ethics as well as the belief that anything is possible. Born January 10th 1951 in Passaic, NJ, to Dr. William Van Vooren and mother Shirley Banta Van Vooren. Jeff thrived in the late 60’s, loving music, art, and festivals including Woodstock and The World’s Fair and was very much a part of the peace generation. Earning his Bachelors of Arts from Franklin Pierce University, Jeff was quite the history buff, always providing factual content in conversation throughout his life.
Jeff later moved to Palm Beach, FL where he met the love of his life, Lisa, while working as a chef at The Breakers Hotel. They married and began a beautiful life together with their daughter, Grace in Sherman, CT. His experience as a chef led them to own and operate their own restaurant, The Station House Café serving the community of West Redding, CT for 13 years. The couple eventually moved to Naples, FL where they remained until his passing.
Jeff’s favorite hobbies included: tennis, skiing, and sailing. One of his greatest adventures included his former high school friends and his family. Together they sailed the Bahamas and the British Virgin Islands.
He departed this world 11 September 2021 survived by his beloved wife, Lisa Van Vooren of Naples FL and daughter, Grace Van Vooren, New York, NY and sister Suzanne Van Vooren as well as a host of cousins, nieces and nephews. Jeff is predeceased by his parents and older brother, William Van Vooren. He will be dearly missed by all.
"If ever there is tomorrow when we're not together… there is something you must always remember. You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think. But the most important thing is, even if we're apart… I'll always be with you." - AA Milne
