James Stuart (Jim or Jimmy to friends and family) was born in St. Augustine, FL in 1955. He moved out to the Pacific Northwest in 1993, after a fabulous road trip he took with his brother the previous year. He loved living in the PNW and never wanted to live anywhere else after that. I met Jim when we were both working in a lab in Tacoma. We began dating in 1995 and were married in 1997.
Jim was a kind and generous soul, who loved helping out his friends, family and co-workers. And he loved cats (and all animals, but it was his love of cats that really did it for me). Jim loved being a chemist and was very dedicated to his job and co-workers. But when he was home, he was all about relaxing with the kitties. We shared a love of the outdoors and spent many weekends hiking or camping, and we traveled a bit too. Jim had many interests including photography, electronics, and reading. He was also a good cook and made an excellent pot of coffee.
Jim did not consider himself an extrovert (which may surprise some!) but in reality he could talk to anyone, at anytime, about anything. Jim did not like to see people go hungry and he donated to local food banks and homeless shelters.
Jim will live on in our hearts forever.
