Joan dedicated her entire life to her family, friends and music. She attended college in Spokane, WA for music and always continued that passion throughout her life. She privately taught piano and voice lessons for 30 years in both Washington and North Carolina. She felt so much accomplishment and joy in seeing the love others felt when learning music. She was proud of every student she ever taught and spoke so fondly of them all.
When it came to family, Joan always cared for every single one greatly. She has 4 children, 12 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren. She was the most proudest Grandma, always bragging about all her grandchildren. She even moved 3000 miles away just to be near her daughter, Angela's, children. She has children/grandchilden in Alberta and BC Canada, Washington, and North Carolina. Even though everyone was so spread out, she never missed saying happy birthday or sending gifts at Christmas, and bragged about everyone's accomplishments in life. Everyone's happiness was her happiness.
Along with being close to her family, Joan cared deeply for all her friends, old and new. She always kept in touch with the old friends, no matter how far apart they may have have been. She lived up to the saying "Best Friends for Life". Her outgoing personality always helped her find new friends where ever she went as well. She was always willing to help lend a hand to the best of her abilities. With her being an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, she met so many wonderful people. She always tried to impact their lives as much as they welcomed her and helped her when she was in need. She helped in the church with playing music, teaching music, and with her knowledge and dedication to the Lord in many ways.
We appreciate all that Joan has done for all of us and impacted our lives and we also appreciate all that others have done for her throughout the years. Her family appreciates everyone's kind words and thoughts during this time. We all lost an amazing person!
