Over two decades that i knew him he constantly lit a fire under us to get things done for those who were doing without homes and food. He helped so many people on a personal basis too, that i never knew about until much later. After the pandemic hit he was first in line to volunteer to drive food to the homes of people stuck indoors due to quarantine and did this even up to a couple weeks before he passed. He will live on forever in our hearts and in the good he helped spread through the world. We will honor him now and through our continued fight for justice; in JP's immortal words that i will hear every day ringing in my ears, "Heads up!" less

Charming as you can imagine, also quite an exquisite dresser! Suits, tailored by his dad, fit his lean body like a Prince! He had swag - bold, self assured, cool style and attitude! He was my first real boyfriend. We loved each other immediately.
In the few years that we dated, we packed in an incredible collection of remarkable memories: Monterey jazz festivals, extravagant gifts, picnics, parties, museums, dances, skating rinks (he was Fred Astaire on wheels) !
John Byron Persley III, thank you with all my spirit, with all my soul for giving me the best of your compassionate heart and for the exceptional attention and value you added to my life. Until we meet again, my friend.
Lynda, Cecil and Marcella, my deepest regrets for your loss.
Go with God,
