John sadly passed away peacefully after a short illness at home on 10th March 2020, aged 87 years. John wasn’t at his best this year, never being one to feel incapable, but we were all taken by surprise by the events of last Tuesday. Mercifully he was in peace, at home, with us all around, as he had so wanted. We can’t quite see it yet, but there is a big void in our lives. Sadly and slowly we have to adjust to a new reality, made doubly complicated by the ever increasing impact of world events.
Fortunately, we are blessed with a large, close family, all of whom have all returned to rally round and offer support. That support has been greatly enhanced by the numerous kind words, thoughts and actions of so many who knew and loved John. We are so grateful to you for thinking of us, and for taking the time to share your memories of John; a beloved husband, father and grandpa; his gentle character, his quiet humour, his skillful practicality, his unwavering support for Mum and us all, and perhaps something he never quite appreciated about himself; his great courage and endeavour in building such a fantastic family business with Mum, a true legacy.
Loving and much-loved husband of Anne and father of Jonathan, Nicholas and Simon. A devoted grandfather to Emily, Jessica, Sam, Louisa, Dan, Alice, Hannah and Olivia. He will be greatly missed by all his family and friends.
