Joshua Donovan Kelly completed his journey to God on December 23, 2020. He died unexpectedly in his Hermitage home at the age of 35.
Born March 23, 1985, to Daniel Eric Kelly and Jeanne Marie Lavin Kelly, he was of the Catholic faith, baptized and confirmed at St. Joseph's in Sharon. He was a member of the class of 2003 of Sharon High School. He graduated from Slippery Rock University in 2007 with a B.S. in Parks and Natural Resources. He completed internships at Buffalo National River in Arkansas and Lava Beds National Park in California.
He currently worked at Woodcraft Industries in Greenville. Previously, he worked at Wallace and Pancher in Hermitage.
He is survived by an adored son, Gabriel Hayden Kelly, and his mother Erika Fotis of Kalamazoo, Michigan. Gabe spent his summers and holidays in Pennsylvania. Together, father and son, enjoyed fishing, spotting for animals, building lego sets, playing Xbox, and talking Star Wars.
Josh is also survived by his parents, Dan (Andrea) Kelly of Farrell, and Jeanne Lavin Kelly of Sharon. His younger sister, Katie (Rich) Parr, with whom he shared many special memories, lives in Surprise, AZ.
Josh is also survived by a grandmother, Ruth Lavin, of Sharon. He was preceded in death by grandparents James Lavin, and Daniel and Geraldine Kelly.
Surviving aunts and uncles include Alberta Kelly of New Castle; Colleen Kelly of Hermitage; Dan (Dianne) Lavin of San Antonio, TX; James Brian (Renee) Lavin of Pontotoc, MS; and Tammy (the late Timothy) Lavin of Luling, LA; and many cousins.
