Joyce Sigrid Anderson passed into the arms of her heavenly father on May 7, 2021 at the age of 87. She briefly struggled with cancer and chose to spend her last days at home in Buffalo, Minnesota. She was surrounded by her large and loving family who celebrated her life by sharing favorite memories and recalling the many personal moments each person enjoyed with her.
Joyce is survived by Dean, her husband of 65 years, five children and their spouses, eleven grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. She was the daughter of Andrew and Karin Pearson, Swedish immigrants and she leaves behind extended family in Sweden as well as the United States.
Joyce loved children and worked as a teacher along with raising her own family. She enjoyed singing and playing the piano. She avidly pursued a variety of arts and crafts which she often gifted to her family and friends including a number of stained-glass (lamps, window and picture frames), paintings, embroidered book marks, handmade cards, and jewelry. She also loved spending time with her family, her cats, Swedish heritage, her flower garden, and Lake Superior’s North Shore.
As her family honored her life around her hospice bed, no services will be held. Joyce loved her Lord and strove to share God’s love with the world. She is going to heaven, not because she deserves it, but because God sees her as perfect in His eyes because of Jesus.
The family thanks Ridgeview Medical Center, Ridgeview Hospice, and Home Care Solutions for end of life care.
Memorials will be donated to Holt International (www.holtinternational.org) and Feed My Starving Children (www.fmsc.org).
