Juanita (Nita) Evelyn Reidolfs peacefully passed away in the comfort of her home, at the age of eighty-nine, on July 7, 2022, with her eldest daughter, Sandy, at her side. She was born September 30, 1932, to the late Jack and Esther Ryder, in Miami Florida and remained their only child.
Nita married the late Robert (Bob) S. Reidolfs on February 19, 1959, in Miami, Florida, where they raised their two daughters for 15 years before relocating to Boone, NC, and was married for 49 years until her husband's passing on April 10, 2008.
She is survived by her children Sandra L. Keast (Ty) and Sheri L. Roberts (Dean); grandchildren Katherine Parker, Robert Schmidt (Ashley), Timothy Marston, Lauren Lane (Travis), Brian Marston (Erika), and Travis Keast; great-grandchildren, Kadance Parker, Royce Parker, Paxton Parker, Dahlia Schmidt, and Soren Schmidt.
Nita was a fun-loving, carefree spirit who enjoyed life to the fullest. She was a born and raised Floridian and remained in the Miami area until 1975, when the family moved to their peaceful, hilltop cabin located atop the Blue Ridge Mountains in Western North Carolina. She was a dedicated say-at-home mom, homemaker, animal lover (especially cats), and enjoyed spending time outdoors with weekend camping trips and similar activities. They remained in Boone until 1988 and relocated to a larger home in Petersburg, VA, to care for her mother, Esther, until her death in June 1995, just as her daughter, Sandy, has done for her since April 2017. Ever the adventurists, Bob and Nita sold their home 1997 to pursue a full-time life on the road in their RV and traveled across the country for over five years before eventually settling in San Antonio to be closer to her daughter and family.
Funeral services will take place July 18, 2022, at Ft. Sam Houston Cemetery Pavilion Shelter # 2, where Nita will be laid to rest with her late husband, Bob. The cemetery has placed some restrictions on floral arrangements. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hope Hospice Foundation of New Braunfels, Texas.
