With the brightest smile and the warmest of hearts, Juanita Perry Williams could light up a room, fill it with beauty and create gifts for many before she left. Alas, Juanita has left her last room, this life on Earth, for her next journey to her celestial place in our ancestry.
Juanita entered this life on August 30, 1956, and transitioned from this existence on July 1, 2021. At 64, Juanita had many, many stories full of laughter, adventure, love, friendship, sisterhood, and a family of four generations including her daughter, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as an aunt, siblings, nieces, nephews and lots of grands among them.
Juanita lived openly with all her wonders and all her trials. When she finally closed her eyes for her eternal rest, she knew that she had built a legacy that was scattered all over the world in people's houses, purses and closets, on our walls, and anywhere her creations found a home. As a Master Crafter and Quilter, there was nothing that she could not create to make you feel up when you were down, remember when you may have forgotten, or see beauty where you may have overlooked it. She was outspoken as a long-time survivor of many challenges including HIV and cancer. She blazed trails for women's lives, organized for social justice and gave so much life to everything and everyone she touched.
We will miss seeing your smile, and we will forever remember your love with our hearts, our minds and our souls. We will love you forever.
The storm that is life has calmed. May your Peace be eternally still.
Rest in All Your Glorious Power Juanita Williams.
