After spending a beautiful Mother’s Day with her family, Connie passed away very peacefully on the afternoon of Monday May 10th in Kirkland, Quebec in her 99th year.
She lived a very long full life and will be missed by all of her family in Canada, the USA and Latvia.
Connie was a loving wife to her late husband Vladimirs “Nick” Nikiforovs for sixty-one years and devoted mother to her two children, the late Victor (Christine) Nikiforovs and daughter Ingrid (Gordon) Gellis.
She was a caring Omi and Grandma to her five grandchildren: Jonathan, Ruth, Katrysha (Andrew), Alexander Sacha and Timothy. She will always be remembered by her extended family: Scott (Lynda), Grant, Donna and great-grandchildren: Isabella (Joseph), Erick, Julia, Dylan, Lauren and Andrew, and her special grandpuppy Ben.
She was a loving life-long childhood friend to the late Olga Fedorova and this friendship has continued through a lifetime of writing letters with her wonderful daughters Dzidra and Helena in Latvia.
A celebration of her life will take place in private for close family and friends at the Mount Royal Funeral Complex. The family invites you to join them virtually on Friday May 21st, 2021 at 2pm, via the following link: https://funeraweb.tv/en/diffusions/29755.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Teresa-Dellar Palliative Care Centre where she was cared for with dignity and loving compassion in the final days of her life: https://residencesoinspalliatifs.com/en/.
Rest in peace Omi, Grandma and Mom, you are so loved and your memory will always live on in our hearts.
So sorry we could not be here today to celebrate your your life, or said our goodbyes in person. We know you wished to have seen more of your Ontario grandchildren, and we wish we could have visited more. Nevertheless, your generosity and kindness to us... moreSo sorry we could not be here today to celebrate your your life, or said our goodbyes in person. A birthday card you gave me many years ago said " Many friends touch our lives, but only a few become like family in our hearts". Thank you for treating me like a second daughter these past 50 years. I will always remember the good old days and share the memories. I know you are at peace now and probably enjoying the big "Pirags" party in heaven. Love, Valerie less
