Laurie Anne Siegel passed from this life on November 2, 2021. Laurie left behind her mother, two brothers, cousins, nephews, nieces and many friends (including her dependable cat-friend, Jeter). We are all thankful for the love and friendship that Laurie shared with us.
Laurie was born at Overlook Hospital in Summit, NJ on November 1, 1964, grew up in Scotch Plains and Mountainside and graduated from Mount Saint Mary Academy before following in the footsteps of her father and grandfather with a career at PSE&G. She lived in Bridgewater with Jeter, the recently deceased A-Rod, and a number of other feline friends who she cared for over the years.
In case you hadn't figured it out yourself, Laurie was a massive Yankee fan! She also loved Halloween (sporting some amazing costumes over the years), the Wizard of Oz, traveling anywhere (but especially to Disneyworld), the Impressionist painters, a Lemon Drop Martini at happy hour, Chinese food and just about anything sweet. And Jeopardy . . . and Gomer Pyle.
She also absolutely adored her nieces and nephews, Matthew and Megan, Joseph and Emma, and Aidan and Alicia.
Laurie was a favorite of her grandfather and father (both named Ed) as well as her Uncle Bob. We hope she is with them now, having a laugh and wishing us well.
As many will know, Laurie fought a long, hard battle with lymphoma. Throughout her seven year fight, and especially in the last couple years when the disease was making her life increasingly difficult, she was an absolute trooper, fighting hard, always positive about her chances of success, and keeping her sense of humor to the end.
Thank you for your kind thoughts and prayers.
