Lynn started his Navy career as a Hospital Corpsman and was subsequently stationed in Viet Nam with his beloved Marines in Recon and First Force Recon. While in Viet Nam, he was awarded a Bronze Star and Purple Heart. After his tour in Viet Nam, Lynn returned home to his first wife Barbara Burns, who had Lynn's son, John B Day. After retirement, Lynn worked in nursing case management, while discovering the other love of his life. Excavators! Lynn built a word of mouth small business and did excavating jobs all over Kitsap County in Washington State. He took to it like a duck to water.
In 2012, Lynn and Linda decided to build their dream home in Whitney, Texas. Finally able to move in the fall of 2014, Lynn enjoyed his final years being home in Texas with family and friends (many of whom he also considered family).
