Mary Alice Braswell began her journey in Pasadena on September 2nd, 1952 and stopped counting the years at age 68 on April 7^th, 2021. 

She is predeceased by her parents Betty and Herman, and her brother William (Bill). 

She is survived by her daughter Chelsea; her grandson Judah; her sister Linda; her brother John Paul; and her nieces Kimberly and Sherie.

She attended college as an adult after adopting Chelsea and graduated with an MBA summa cum laude.  She was a project manager and a university professor.  Her greatest teaching joy was building relationships with her students to know how to mentor them to prepare them well beyond their academic years.

She enjoyed rock, jazz, and blues music, embroidery, and finding a reason to make a quilt to celebrate life’s big events.  She would ask we love each other well and don’t forget to eat dessert.

A memorial lunch will be held May 15^th at 12:00 pm – 3:00 pm in Austin.
