We hope this lasting memorial can offer an opportunity to share memories of Max. Max was dedicated to enacting positive social change and in his memory, we are raising funds for one of the first organizations he worked with, Planned Parenthood. As well as other progressive causes.
You can read some of Max's early articles, which showcase his early work with Planned Parenthood, here: https://rewirenewsgroup.com/author/max-kamin-cross/

Max was always ready to knock doors, help register voters, and drive friends to the polls. He could talk to anyone about politics, even if he didn't always agree. Max hounded each and every one of his friends to vote, and truly cared about making sure people could make their voices heard. In his honor, consider donating to the American Civil Liberties Union or the Brennan Center for Justice.
Max also loved wilderness activities and sports. He spent much of his childhood enjoying outdoor activities like archery, skiing, and hiking. He was a certified medical rescuer and even participated in the junior olympic archery trials. Please consider supporting this passion in his honor with a donation to the Open Outdoors for Kids through the National Park Foundation.
Through this site, you can make a donation to a cause that Max cared about in his honor, either to any of the causes listed or another organization of your choosing. You can also share photos and memories for Max's loved ones to see.

He gave the best hugs. He sent the most heartfelt goodnight texts. He gave every part of himself to the people he loved and believed in, and we are all better for it.

It was incredibly moving and healing at the same time. This might become an annual event.

They shared during the celebration today about Max's impact on their lives -- personal and professional. It was so amazing for us to hear stories of his endless generosity, kindness, brilliance and incisiveness (that is not, I learned, hyperbole), commitment to democracy and the greater good, unending curiosity, enormous capacity for connecting people to each other to benefit everyone, a love of costumes (some of us know that's baked in from early on), humor, and buying in bulk (mostly gifts). You knew him. And loved him. He loved you all unconditionally. We cannot express our gratitude. You are now in our lives forever. less

I remember being new at EveryAction and him generously teaching me the software, sitting behind me with his laptop on the old beige couch multitasking while I’d ask him questions every 5 minutes. I remember him teasing me for not having Uber installed on my phone (but helping me anyways so we could make it to our client meeting on time). I remember him somehow arranging for Red Bull “ambassadors” to come to the office handing out free cans to everyone. I remember him telling me he was leaving the first time and I said “you’ll be back”. And then he was! And the second time he left I said “you’ll be back” and he said maybe! And now I feel so robbed, as we all do, of Max. I was so sure you were coming back. We are all devastated by this. less
