Mitchell Gerald Majors son of the late Albert (Pete) Gerald Majors and Idelle Virginia Price Smith born on July 1, 1960 in Batavia New York. He spent his younger years growing up in Caledonia, New York before moving to Landover, Maryland in the late 1960’s.

He attended Kentland Elementary school in Landover, Maryland and received many commendation awards for best behavior. He later moved to Columbia, Maryland where he attended Wilde Lake Highschool. Mitch was Vic President of the Senior Homecoming Committee his senior year (1978) and was well known for his many activities. He had the honor of introducing the Principal, program participants and guest at his high school commencement.

Mitch later attended Arizona State University in 1981-1985 and Mesa Community College in 1986 to earn his AAS degree in Construction Drafting. He attended Chandler- Gilbert Community College earning his Microsoft Networking Technology AAS degree in 2001 using this degree to support his employer in the IT Support Department.

In the summer of 1981, Mitchell had the opportunity to work at Eastman Kodak before moving to Arizona. His father (Pete) and Grandmother (Ruby) happen to retire from Kodak. In Arizona he worked at Pappion’s Wing Joint while attending school where he became widely known by many who remember his ability to make others laugh. Mitchell worked 30 years in various positions for Scottsdale Honor Health before retiring in 2017. He would often joke that he ran the hospital.

One of Mitch’s passions was sports. While at Wilde Lake he played football and lacrosse and served as the captain of the JV lacrosse team. He continued his love for lacrosse playing on the ASU Sun Devil’s from 1981- 1982 as #21. From the time he stepped on the ASU field he remained a big Sun Devil’s fan of all sports. He also supported and loved the NFL Washington Commanders (Red Skins) as well as the Arizona Cardinals. He would often give friends and family a hard time during basketball and football season. He later took on assistant coaching responsibilities for Mitchell Jr’s lacrosse team the “Heat” and football team the “Crush”.

When he was young many of his cousins fought to baby sit him because he was so adorable. As a little boy he loved to play practical jokes and spread laugher which continued into his adulthood. When he was 13 years old his Grandmother Ruby took Him and his cousin Sandra to visit her father in Brussels.

Mitch enjoyed many trips to Florida spending time on St. Petersburg and Clearwater beach to swim, fish, and search for seashells. He also enjoyed Florida (night life) with family and friends He enjoyed being President of his HOA and you could often see him out by the pool or talking to neighbors. Most of all, he enjoyed being around his grandchildren and often made them laugh with joy as well, naming himself GP Whip-a-Butt. His life mission was to spread laughter and if you knew him his laugh was contagious.

Mitchell is predeceased by his Father Albert Gerald Majors, his mother Idelle Virginia Price Smith and his Grandson Marquise Matthew Majors.

Mitchell leaves to mourn his passing, (Bonus Father) Arden Smith, (Bonus Mother) Karen Majors, (Brother) Jamie Majors, (Sister) Asia Majors, (Step Son) Michael Clancy, (Daughter) Michelle Idelle Majors Boykin (Demitric), (Daughter) Mellissa Marie Schafer (Charlie), (Son) Mitchell Jordan Majors Jr., (Ex-Wife) Joan Clancy Majors. Grandchildren; Maddox Clancy, Jaliyah Boykin, Jayden Boykin, Milo Clancy, Sage Schafer, Violet Schafer, and Phoenix Shafer.

Mitch also leaves behind many Aunts, Uncle, Nieces, Nephews, and Cousins.

Mitchell requested to not have a formal service, his wish was to have everyone celebrate his life by doing, watching, listening, or playing whatever brings you laughter and joy.
