He invited us to his family's small hacienda for an authentic Mexican BBQ. Great chef! My wife and daughters loved it. We spent time together at Las Mananitas when Octavio won the DEC 100 sales award and we both later ended up at the home office in Massachusetts. We got together a few times there, then I moved to the West Coast and we lost touch. Recently tried to reconnect on LinkedIn and just today heard of his passing - too young to go. Gale Jacobs less

He always had a smile on his face and was willing to assist anyone if they had a problem or an issue. Because I worked for Gary for a number of years, he frequently took me to Marlboro CC and we'd run into Tavo waiting on us to tee off (Gary was always late). Those guys kicked my butt all the time, I was their personal ATM. All was good after any round as we enjoyed going over the holes and laughing at each other's mistakes, mine mostly. When we traveled to the "P" it was a different story, I could hold my own at pool and that was my time to win back my losses. A very intelligent man, Tavo was "spooky" to me because he dealt in software so much and actually knew what was going on. Sorry to have missed getting together with you recently, our Product Manager meetings you helped organize were a lot of fun. Just make sure the tee tie you book in heaven for Gary, I and one of your angels is at a nice course.

It has taken me a while to write this, longer than I would have ever expected, but so many memories to gather up. I remember our times together at Marlboro Country Club, golfing, drinking, drinking some more and then Lisa and Laura would meet us for dinner, then of course drinking a little more. Our many after golf bar sessions made for interesting political discussions. There was the time when we made the turn at the club to play the back nine and the pro came out of the shop asking if we knew anything about computers. Their network went down on Friday just before the weekend and they were in a state of panic. We finished our round and then went to work, you fixing the problem and me eating the snacks in the pro shop. Finally at 4:00 in the morning we were done and still played golf four hours later. We never had a problem getting a tee time after that. I remember the first time I met you. It was on the golf course with Peter Mercury. I asked who you were and he said the greatest left handed Mexican putter we know. Over the years it proved to be true and then some. We had many trips to Myrtle Beach and Palm Springs together with Peter and Steve Garrett over the years and always had a great time. It was always you and me partnering. There was the one year we beat them so bad you had the idea to get them each a dozen golf balls with the final week's score on them. I'm not sure they ever forgave us. You tried to educate me on the finer points of soccer (real football) but I'm still not quite there. I remember watching a World Cup game with you after a round at Captain's on the Cape and almost falling asleep at the bar. Could have been the drinks. The things I remember the most and believe to be what made you such a great person was your continued friendship and the ultimate family man that you were. Lisa, Nicole and Gabriel are extremely proud of all that you did and all that you were. Me too partner!! Rest in peace and know that there are people here who love and miss you. less

We always looked forward to our weekly dinner and talking about what happened during the week. It was always inevitable that Gary and Tavo would have a political debate that at times got heated, or went on and on for too long, lol... at the end of the night it always ended up with the guys hugging one another.
Lisa, the love between you and Tavo was so strong. We feel so
Honored and lucky to have shared so many wonderful nights and life events with the two of you
You and Tavo are a big part of our family. We promise that we will be here for you. Whatever you need, just ask and we will be there.
The two of you lived life to the fullest and you want on some amazing trips all over the world. May some of those adventures and memories help you get through this rough time and help you celebrate the great life that the two of you lived together.
When the time is right, we would love to have you come to Florida and visit for a bit. We love you❤️ Laura & Gary less

The team was playing really well and it came down to the last hole where we needed to sink a putt to win the tournament and the two of us worked together and we sunk the putt for our team to win. Tavo was always so much fun to play golf with and so encouraging when playing with me. He gave me a lot of tips that really improved my golf game. I will miss playing golf with you but I somehow know you will be looking down and helping me still from heaven. Tavo was a great man with a huge heart and great sense of humor. I hope you are having fun playing some new courses from above. Love, Laura Mayo less

He could take apart a computer and rebuild it in no time. Tavo and I came off the golf course one Friday night and the golf pro came out and asked if we knew anything about computers lol.. the pro shop network went down and the entire staff was in a panic. Tavo and I quickly took apart the computers and Tavo joked that he had rebuilt computers in his basement that would run 10 times faster than what was in the shop. So he went home and got his computers and one by one we took one the computers apart, installed software, loaded databases and rebuilt the network. It took us about 8 hours and until 4 am but we got their network rebuilt and it was up and running before Saturday’s morning golfers showed up. It’s one of my fondest memories of one of our biggest computer projects and accomplishments. Between Tavo and I, there was nothing that we couldn’t do. Tavo loved technology and was one of the best! My golf partner and best friend, Love you and miss you already buddy! Gary Mayo less

We sat together more than once in the back yard, under the tree, and had a few beers. He liked to talk about Mexico, and I asked him about how he grew up. I remember him being so kind and nice. Great sense of humor, too. And most of all I remember how much he loved Gabe and was proud of him. Un abrazo a toda la familia Diaz. My deep condolences. less

I've spent a lot of time with the Diaz family over the years, and I will always remember Tavo's warmth and generosity. One of my favorite memories of him is when Gabe and I would play soccer growing up, Tavo would always be there, but he would be practicing his golf. I will always celebrate the love of my parents - truly a romance story that transcended cultures and countries. I am so grateful that my Dad passed in the loving care of my Mom. That is exactly how he would have wanted to go.

He was happiest when he could support other people and being groups together. Such a warm and loving spirit. I never had any doubt that any place I needed him to be or any thing I would ask, he would give it if he could. I tried adding many more photos but these are the ones that this platform let me upload for now - Dad in Mexico, happy brining family and friends together, and Mom and Dad at law school, supporting me in moto court finals. less
Tavo is my favorite uncle. Ever since I was a little girl I always thought he was so good looking and cool 😎, he drove a Mustang and had great hair 😉. Always cheerful, I enjoyed our long chats, I miss him.
