OBITUARY
My husband, Donald Pharr & Tommy Brown have been friends for many years and had a mutual respect for one another as Pastors. Normally, when we visited family, we always looked forward to visiting Trinity Church in Springhill, LA. Normally, when we visited family, we always looked forward to visiting Trinity Church in Springhill, LA. I remember one year I went to visit my husband's relatives in Springhill but Donald didn't make the trip with me (probably hunting season). As usual, I went to church while I was there. After praise and worship, Pastor Tommy stood behind the podium and let the congregation know ahead of time that the message he had prepared was going to be tough for some. At that point, I think I shouted Hallelujah! He began to bring the word and at the same time, correction to the congregation. It was so quiet you could hear a pin drop, yes, even on the carpet! Then "someone" said Amen, Pastor! Preach! Well, we won't call any names, but I felt I had to say something, no one else was giving the man any amen's! Some of the congregation looked at me as if to say, "sssshh!!!" But, I couldn't help myself, the more correction he brought, the louder my amen's got. And the more he preached, the more I identified with what he was saying. I don't remember the title of the message but I do remember the content was about being a brother's keeper. My sister in law had fallen off a ladder a few weeks before, and had broken both arms. I drove up from South Louisiana every weekend for about two months to help with the house she and my brother in law had just moved into and to help him take care of her. It truly was all about being a brother's keeper! I never forgot that day and I never forgot that message! Don and I are praying for Brother Tommy`s family and rejoicing with them at the same time for his homegoing... Much love and prayers, Pastor Don & Delaine Pharr Broussard, LA
