OBITUARY
Paula M. Kusmierz, age 63, passed away peacefully on February 28, 2019 after battling an infectious disease at Beechwood Continuing Care in Getzville. She was born on April 22, 1955 in Niagara Falls, NY to Vincent H. and Arlene D. (Swaha) Kusmierz. A graduate in the class of 1973 at Niagara Falls High School, she later moved to Chatsworth, California with her significant other, Larry D. Hewitt. She was born on April 22, 1955 in Niagara Falls, NY to Vincent H. and Arlene D. (Swaha) Kusmierz. A graduate in the class of 1973 at Niagara Falls High School, she later moved to Chatsworth, California with her significant other, Larry D. Hewitt. Together they had their one and only daughter, who she loved dearly and grew to have an unbreakable bond with. Paula went on to earn her Nursing degree from Pierce College. She followed up her education with a dedicated career of 30 years focused in Oncology research, primarily at Good Samaritan Hospital of Los Angeles. Known for being kind, fun-loving, strong and free-spirited, her love for life, her pets, family and people was unconditional and pure. She will be greatly missed but forever remembered by her surviving family including her daughter, Crystal M. Hewitt; her grandson, Julien; three brothers, Timothy Swaha, Gregory (Cristiane) Vincent and Lawrence F. Kusmierz; her two dogs, Chanelle and Betsy; her significant other; her life long best friend, Cheryl (Joseph) Batt and family; her aunt, Lillian (late Thomas) Wojtaszek; and many cousins, their spouses and children. Friends, family and others whose lives have been touched by her presence are invited to celebrate Paula's memory at the (Amherst Chapel) AMIGONE FUNERAL HOME, INC. 5200 Sheridan Dr. (at Hopkins) from 4-8pm on Monday, March 4, 2019 where a remembrance service will follow at 8pm. A simple reception will be held at this time to reminisce, grieve, and support each other for our loss of her beautiful soul.
