Reverend Jack Kidwell, of Cincinnati, OH passed on Friday, July 22, 2022, aged 77 at Mercy Hospital in Anderson.
He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Linda (nee Busch), survived in death by his children Joe (Lori) Kidwell, Lauren Thompson, and grandson, Zachary Thompson.
Jack was born and raised in Stinking Creek, Tennessee. He graduated from Wynn High School in Habersham, Tennessee in 1963. After graduation he moved to Cincinnati and worked in facility maintenance for Tri-County Mall with his brother-in-law George Pyle.
He was drafted into the United States Army and served 1965-67 in Military Police units in South Korea and Ft. Bliss, Texas. After military service he worked at Bedinghaus Business Forms in Sharonville, Ohio from 1968-1980.
Jack was a beloved member of Monuments Baptist Church in Bethel, Ohio. He became a Christian in 1975 at Eastern Hills Baptist Church in Cincinnati, where he was a deacon until called to preach. He pastored churches in the greater-Cincinnati area and preached several revivals across the midwest and the south for 40 years.
He pastored his first congregation at Hamersville Baptist in Hamersville, Ohio from 1977-79. He went to Liberty Baptist in Norwood, Ohio from 1979-91, where under his leadership the church grew into one of the largest and most active in the community at the time.
Brother Jack was called to pastor Heartland Baptist in Mason, Ohio in 1995. In 2006, Heartland merged with Faith Baptist Church becoming Faith-Heartland Baptist with Jack as the pastor until he retired in 2020.
Jack also formed a general contractor partnership with Larry Burdette, operating as Burdette-Kidwell throughout the 1990's and early 2000's. They provided commercial and residential construction and maintenance services to hundreds of customers in the Tri-State area during that time.
Brother Jack was a guiding strength in the lives of so many people. His unwavering love of God and church, devotion to his family, and the support and love he gave to people will be remembered forever by everyone blessed to have been a part of his life.
