Anderson, 75, died June 24th, 2020, at his home in Trinity, Florida. At his request, no public service will be held. Richard was born July 27th, 1944 in Poughkeepsie, New York to Howard and Muriel Anderson. He spent his childhood in Poughkeepsie before attending college at Taylor University in Upland, Indiana, finishing his degree at Indiana Wesleyan with a Bachelor of Arts in Business in 1967. Richard had a long-time career in business and insurance working for various companies including Allstate Insurance Company, Indiana Lumberman’s Mutual Insurance Company, and Alexander & Alexander Inc. He concluded his professional career owning and managing the Richard Anderson Allstate Agency in Brownsburg, Indiana. Richard was blessed with a large and loving family, both immediate and extended which he devoted much of his time and energy to. From the very beginning he dedicated his children to God and encouraged them to follow Christ and His word. Richard loved serving the central Indiana community and his customers. He resided in Brownsburg, Indiana for 20 years. His interests included a love of sports, particularly football, basketball, racing and ice hockey. He loved visiting the ocean and retiring along the Gulf Coast. Richard is survived by his brother, John Anderson and sister in law, Judy Anderson of Racine, WI; son, David Anderson and daughter in law, Jennifer Anderson of Bellevue, NE; daughter, Cheri Anderson of Fairview, TN; daughter, Kristin Anderson of San Marcos, TX; granddaughter, Rebecca Anderson of Bellevue, NE. He is additionally survived by the mothers of his children, Nancy Howland and Sherrill McDaniel.
