Pastor/Tito/Uncle/Kuya/Lolo Bert was loved by many. This is a platform where we can collectively share our stories and memories of him. It is a way in which we can chronicle the ways he impacted our lives.
As we plan virtual gatherings, we will post updates and invites. Thank you for contributing to this lasting memorial.

Pastor Bert was someone who so clearly loved people, moved towards them, and treated others as his own family. I'm so grateful for how God brought me to FBC Oak and used Pastor Bert (among MANY others) to love me, take me in as their own, and show me that there is a Heavenly Father who cares deeply for me.
I'm thankful for his example of what it looks like to serve God, to be faithful to His church, and to love generously. As I remember his life, I hope to emulate that same kind of faithfulness, generous love, and warmth.. so that others would know the Father's love for them as well.
looking forward to rejoicing with you in heaven one day, pastor bert! thank you for everything. less

He was always interested in how the family is doing and would ask about my siblings. The Lord used him mightily in building up the youth at FBC including me. Kuya Bert was a role model to us of a faithful servant of God. I have fond memories of listening to Kuya Bert and respected how well he prepared those Sunday School lessons growing up.

I was a young girl, and he was one of the youth leaders in the church my father pastors. It was here in the US that my family connected with him again. And since then, he has always been a part of Ormeo celebrations and losses. As he leaves us, I see it as another celebration, not here, but in Paradise. Goodbye for now, QBert, see you one day in eternity! The Ormeos love you!!! Say hello to our loved ones up there! less

Even the ones that you’re not the focal point of, but I still was able to cherish because I saw glimpses of you just being you; like hearing you laugh at me after watching me zoom in on a sleeping friend or even just seeing you play games on your iPad after church. It’s the little moments that I didn’t realize I would miss the most.
I remember coming to Christ at 17; I remember thinking about how I had felt so unseen and unloved at that point and wishing I had learned about Christ’s love long before. But after all these years since then, I’m grateful of the love that you and Mama Cyn have extended to me and making me feel like I never really missed a beat. I am so grateful that you loved me enough to call me daughter and treat me like I really was. I’m grateful that you were my tangible, real world example of Christ’s love. You weren’t just Pastor Bert or Tito Bert to me anymore, you were Papa.
I’m going to miss you kissing my cheek when you say hi and bye to me and you calling me “silly/crazy girl” when you see me do something weird or dumb. I’m going to miss beating you at boggle, even if this is the only photo I have documenting it. I’m going to miss sitting in your bible study or going to get sushi or ice cream with you. I’m really going to miss the little things.
But still, I thank you for your love and your humor. I thank you for your council and conversation. I’m rejoicing because I can imagine how happy you are and how big your smile is right now worshiping with Jesus. I miss you so much, but I’m comforted to know I’ll see you again when the Lord says it’s time.
Thank you for your life. I love you, Papa 💕 less

I'm confident that my Compadre/Ninong, Pastor Robert Pagmanua, DD was joyfully received by His Lord and Master Jesus Christ when he went to his final home! Pastor Bert was faithful in all things, having served Christ all his life. He has impacted the lives of many, especially young people, many who are now Pastors themselves and/or dedicating their lives for Christ. My family and I have been so blessed by Pastor Bert who was fuinstrumental in leading my late husband Tonet, to a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Pastor Bert and his wife Cynthia were dedicated followers of Christ and it showed in all aspects of their life. The love of Jesus overflowed to us and many people through them. I praise the Lord and am very thankful for having met Pastor Bert in 1975. He and Mare Cynth became godparents to all my children. I'm really, really going to miss him here on earth, but I'm sure to see him again someday. Bye for now, my dear sweet Compadre/Ninong Bert. You will surely be missed! Thank you for your example of being a good disciple of Jesus. My prayers go out to his family especially my Kumare/Ninang Cynthia. less

Personally, you've taught me how to be a godly man, a man of integrity, of kindness, compassion, as well as generosity... I'll miss the countless times you've help me understand your notes to help me prepare for a study, which is kind of not fair, I'm just starting to get used to your notes uncle, you're not going to be here anymore when I would need help but I can also hear you say "you'll be alright! Trust in the the Holy Spirit to lead and you, boy!"
Although I'm sad, I'm at peace knowing you're home with our Lord and that now you get to ask Him all the questions that you yourself weren't able to answer. I could just see the biggest smile on your face when God finally answers those questions! You told me that there can never be another King David, a man after God's own heart… but uncle I'm certain that you came close
I'll miss you, I love you, I thank you, I'll see you later Uncle Bert! 🙏🏽 less

I was in the room when you drew your final breath. It was an honor to sit next to you and read you the Scriptures in your last moments. I know how dedicated you were to God’s Word and how diligently you studied it each day, so it is fitting that it’s His Word that ushered you into His presence. You did not have any biological children, but you were a father to me. I will miss you so much!! Family gatherings won’t be the same without you and your dad-jokes, but I look forward to the day I will see you again.
