Sheila G. Bell, 79, passed away on October 25, 2021 while in hospice care near her home in Chapel Hill, North Carolina from complications related to advanced dementia and Alzheimer's disease.
Sheila was born in Luton, England to James and Catherine O' Neill on March 25, 1942. She lived and went to school in Dunstable, England and there also earned the equivalent of an Associates Degree in Administration. She married Ian Bell on September 29, 1962 in Dunstable. She worked from home while her children were young but later worked in Administration for Data General Corporation for 15 years and then later at the Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. She was a 'den mother' for her son's cub scout pack and the same for her daughter's brownie troop for many years.
Sheila is preceded in death by her daughter Tania Jane Bell, her sister Helen O' Neill and her parent James and Catherine O' Neill.
Sheila is survived by her son Neil Bell and his wife Laurie, her grandchildren Joshua Bell, Ian Norris, Jennifer Bell, Allyson Bell and Sebastian Bell, her siblings Jack O' Neill, James O' Neill, Ian O' Neill, Tracey O' Neill and Anthony O' Neill and chosen family Ellie Bell.

The family of Sheila Bell wishes to thank the Jim and Betsy Bryan Hospice Home of UNC.
The memorial service will be held on Sunday, Dec 12 at 3:00 pm at the Won Buddhism Temple in Chapel Hill.
