Susan Reed Wheat Swift (December 20, 1949 – November 14, 2021)
World renowned hugger, professional coffee drinker, lover of books, puzzles, tea parties (and at times my late father William who lasted 49 years beside her – his personal record). Survivor of the rheumatoid arthritis thief who stole her knitting needles, piano and one effective ‘you did it’ finger. Mother of 4 heartbroken men turned boys who miss her laugh, love and witty comebacks. Once grandmother now guardian angel to 15 beautifully rambunctious rascals (and countless k9 companions). Perfecter of hospital corners, dressing changes and treating the patient not disease. Sister of Carol who she loved for all the right reasons. Mom started smoking too early and quit too late, but inspired all women to run with the wolfs. Don’t waste the money on flowers, plant some. Or donate to help children, or the elderly (Serenity house in Victor NY we thank you). As per mom’s wish (and dad’s ditto) we will celebrate both my parents’ lives when the weather warms, and we can laugh, cry and howl at the moon.
